Deco Publique has a long-standing commitment to supporting students and graduates as they begin careers in the cultural industries. 

We have hosted a range of internships and placements within our Morecambe studio, offering practical experience in cultural programming, festivals and the arts.

Through our partnership with Lancaster University, we have supported many placements, from social media and creative documentation roles to assistant producer positions and an artist-in-residence placement. These opportunities provide insight into the day-to-day work of producing cultural programmes and festivals.

While we do not always have internships available, we welcome expressions of interest from students and recent graduates who would like to gain experience in the cultural sector.

Gaining experience

We welcome volunteers who would like to support the delivery of cultural programmes and festivals.

Volunteering with Deco Publique can involve stewarding events, assisting with programme set-up, supporting creative activities or helping our production teams during festivals. These opportunities offer valuable experience for those interested in working in the cultural industries, as well as a chance to contribute to projects in your local community.

You can also look out for volunteer opportunities at our festival, the National Festival of Making, which runs a regular volunteer programme.
